    in for a penny....

I've only tried Time ones. But always had Ultegra. Very happy with them and had the ones on my winter hack for years.

But it all depends on how serious you are, money, riding wants and needs etc

Utegra have a better quality bearing and a stainess axe apposed to chromo. In terms of functionality there's very little difference and either are good quality. I have to say I do ike my Ultegras..... although they took a couple of rides to get used to after riding on MTBs for a few years

If your thinking of buying Time I would suggest getting one of the cheaper pairs first. They have a lateral float which I don't think any other pedals have. It means you can move your foot about on the pedals once your clipped in, rather than just rotate them. You'll either love them or hate them.

I've been using them for years and now find I can't get on with other pedals. Tried a pair of Ultegras and couldn't get the plates setup right, spent more time by the side of the road with an allen key than riding.

Not sure about the strength of Time, I did hear some rumours about the bodys breaking, but I've had a pair now for about 2 years with no problems.

Bcause they arent a metal body they tend to shatter when you fall off which isnt perticualy good if you are 80 miles from home or in a race

If Keo's have broken on impact its very rare. Many mtb pedals from Look are also resin and perform very well.
Even with a metal pedal, on impact damage can happed which could end your ride. Its just bad luck.
