Staining on Camelback podium bottles, should I be surprised?

I've just bought a couple of camelbak podium bottles. I've used Lucozade hydrate in one and was amazed to see, right from the first time I used it, the wall of the bottle pick up the orange colour (I've seen the same effect on cheaper bottles over time but this was evident after the first few minutes)
I'm aurprised that something which makes such a big deal of being inert should stain so quickly. Anyone else seen the same thing or have I been unlucky?

Unlucky I think. :?
My Podium bottle is fine; however I usually fill it with water. I think I've put Lucozade in it once.
Just out of interest, what colour is the bottle?0 -
Dont see why they would put colouring in a 'proper' sports drink. If its staining your bottle - you wouldnt want to spill it down your nice top !
I'd avoid lucozade if I were you !0 -
thanks for the replies, I've got a couple of the camelbaks, the one that's stained is white, translucent plastic. I've a blue translucent one too which doesn't seem anything like as effected. As to ithe "properness" of the drink on the basis that it's got colour in, I agree, I reckon it's probably unneccessary too, but, who knows. I know lucozade sponsor and supply this stuff to a whole bunch of "proper" athletes so it can't do too much harm (unless they dribble )"The only absolute statement is that everything is relative" - anon0

Maybe it's just because there is no pigment in the clear bottle then. :? Dunno. At least we know the blue ones will be fine. :P
I'd stay away from the Lucozade though ... just seems like it's aimed at the mass market instead of focusing on sports.0 -
I did hear that although lucozade sponsor a fair few things, not many actual top level athletes actually use it! It's better to mix up the powdered stuff to the strength that is wanted. And that is why the big lucozade bottles are an opaque blue colour, so you can't see it isn't really lucozade on the telly...0
