Quick question re Afan

Hi all, I'm heading to Afan tomorrow with a couple of mates and probably going to do the wall first and then Penhydd after a bit of lunch. I've been once before with my local club and we parked at the old AFP trail centre and did the same two trails.

My question is, I hear the Glyncorrwg centre is much nicer, so if we park over there and then do the two trails does it add a great deal of distance to our ride? And is it worth the extra effort?

Cheers for the help guys

  • If you're set on doing Penhydd and The Wall, you're adding in quite a tedious section of fire road after finishing Penhydd.

The visitor centre is certainly better, though - better food, better opening hours and a bike shop.

If you going to Glyncorrwg, though, think about doing Whites instead of one of the other 2, it starts and ends right by the centre.

I also prefer Whites to The Wall, but that's obviously a personal thing - I'd go to Penhydd first, and finish with Whites, but the The Wall and Whites are a more natural pairing as they are next to each other.

    Alaric.

Thanks mate, we just stuck to Afan forest park centre in the end and had an awesome day's riding. :D
  • That's what it's all about! They're all good trails!
