Right have been commuting to work for about 14 months now, for the first 13 & 1/2 months - PF did not vist, nada, nothing.

Last week, massive p******e, rear tyre went pop and lots of air came out quickly (I had locked my back wheel trying to avoid going under a skip truck that decided to cut across a bus lane I was in, without indicating, and took the rubber off the tyre earlier that journey).

Yesterday, slow, pinch p******e this time in the front.

Does this work the same as going to the loo for the first time on a pub night - you can hold it for about 2 hours to begin with, but when the seal is broken.... every 20 mins all night.

In other words, am I going to be blessed by the PF every week or so now?

    Not necessarily.

For the front. It could just be bad luck. However, check for tread wear and whether the wheel rims have any "burrs" on them.

Same for the rear tyre. Would heat build up from the skid cause that? I dunno. Anyhoo, check the tyre and see what state the tread is in.

after the first visit, replaced both tyres (they were the sh*t ones that came on the bike), new tyres are immaculate - perfect in fact (oh no I've said it now). Rims are fine as well. tube just split

As for the rear, it was the fact that the skid had ripped the tread off through to the material underneath that did it (about a mile later) - Bam! flat tyre.

I've taken the first step to guarantee I will never be visited again - bought a pump.

I wish, I had spare tube, pump, puncture repair kit and CO2 inflation cannister thingy, worked for over a year.

Well i got a visit from the PF today for the first time in almost 18 months, just leaving work to come home and I noticed I had a flat front..

Small hole by the valve, get out the spare tube, co2 inflator etc ... I some how manage to cross the thread on the co2  all the gas gone in a sec and i'm stuck with no way to inflate the tyre. I then had to quick march across Chester to my LBS befor it closed through all the mupets who had gone to the races today.

Think I may invest in a mini pump for the commute.

Tyres wear out and get thinner, and hence become more prone to punctures.

That and you alway get punctures in sets of three.
