Well it looks pretty windy outside according to the BBC weather site, but looking out of the office window it looks like a lovely sunny day. Anyone been outside this lunchtime? Is it really that blustery?

Aye most of the trees here are having several rounds of hell knocked out of them! They all seem to be leaning over in the same direction...

Reckon I'd be on for a PB going home with it blowing that way, if I hadn't popped a spoke on Wednesday and found out that it'll take till next Tuesday for a new one to materialise.

Between the wind, we had a massive hailstorm mid-morning. Lovely.

Time to worry is when they're leaning into each other or in random directions.

drove in today  but that was because I had an early start and a load of stuff to carry in.

Part of me wishes I had cycled in anyway as the winds would've blown me along with NO effort.

The other part keeps thinking about horizontal trees and me cycling INTO that gale the whole way home.... :?

Where's that 'Winter Weather Watch Thread' gone?

Anyway, sun to return early Sat AM, hope to do my first ever 50 miler.

Hardly had to pedal this morning and arrived freezing cold, we have gusts of 41mph for tonights commute home, straight down my throat and no where to hide, I am not looking forward to this at all, one small mercy, at the moment it aint raining.

The wind's annoying, but hopefully it'll blow all that sodding fluff off the plane trees, once and for all - have had to give up on contacts for now 'cause they get turned to sandpaper!

    Windy as fork here.
Fortunately I decided to work from home, as otherwise I'd still be halfway along the A4, gaining ground in the lulls and going backward in the gusts !

My fence looks like it's about to collapse :-(

Dammit, wish I was sailing rather than stuck here working...it'd be, uh, envigorating

Don't bank on it, I had a headwind on the way in yesterday, and on the way home, and again this morning

Presumably, you've got horizontal sleet coming in from Serbia as I type, with a hurricane coming in from the West.

Hail in fact. None of it landing because the wind is so strong, its going all the way back up, carrying the odd small child with it.
