Good day all.

Just after some advice about bike racks.
I own a VW polo hatchback and I want to be able to carry two bikes on the back of the car.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

I currently have a Halfords rack that you fit to the back of the car (a hatchback) held on by 3 sets of straps - but it takes a long time to get off and on and I'm always stopping to check and tighten straps. Because of the hazzle I don't use it very often, and I'm thinking of buying roof bars and 2 Thule cycle carriers to fit to them. It seems to me a much better option, but more expensive.

Another type of rack for the back of the car is one that is fitted on to a towbar. Again this is better than the racks with straps, but again more expensive, especially if your car doesn't already have a towbar and you have to buy and fit one.

If you plan to use your cycle carrier a lot, I would recommend splashing out on the roof bar or towbar options.
