Pain below elbow after riding

I went out on the bike yesterday for a short spin. Felt fresh coming to the last 4 or 5 miles so decided to drop the hammer on a straight section..... leapt up a few gears and got onto the drops (first time I'd used them). As I put my right hand down I felt a slight twinge, but it went straight away so I thought nothing of it. Felt fine afterwards too. Woke up this morning and the same muscle is in spasm and hurts like hell..... sort of a burning pain rather than a cramping one. I made sure I rehydrated through and after the ride so it can't be that. Anyone else have anything like this? It's the underside of the forearm, just a couple of inches from the elbow, very limited area that hurts.

Pee'd me right off as I'd planned a ride with a forum member this morning and I've lost his number!

  • Me too, went to see a sports injury chap - was Golfers elbow. I don't play golf but he massaged it and its now almost gone - something to do with tendon attached to elbow.

Of course yours might be something very different!
Trying my best to do 300 miles a month on and off road.

Interesting.. I have something similar sounding but above the elbow which also happens from rowing. Started on one side and now on both :(
