I bought the Belgian one a while ago, almost to nice to wear on the bike.
One word of caution, think carefuly re the size, I'm usually XL, but all the
Rapha stuff seems to come up smaller, so it had to be XXL.
The top is well made (it should be for the best part of £100!!), and the fabric
excellent, save it for best.

I vote for a new forum for Rapha lovers & Haters. We have more threads about Rapha than some other topics which have their owen boards :twisted:Want to know the Spen666 behind the posts?

There is a review on www.thewashingmachinepost.net
like all Rapha jerseys, v.nice, well-made but overpriced (I have some and that's my opinion) compared to others. Have a look at Solo and Colomba. Both reviewed on that site.M.Rushton0 -
To be honest, I have never bought Rapha, no particular reason, I just haven't. I'll have a look at the country jersey.0

I bought the Italain one, like all their stuff, it is really well made, fits like a glove and looks the bollo*ks. Yes it is expensive, but like anything else in this life you get what you pay for. If you are going to use it a lot, and you look after it (wash correctly) it will last for years...so you will get your money's worth......bit like a decent frame, and you we don't skimp on the £'s there do we.
Good advice about the sizes, they are a bit on the small size, and work best if you are wearing a good quality base layer.0 -
I too am a new convert. beautifully made and feels reassuringly expensive as well.
Perfect for the cycling dandy (or in my case slightly overweight middle aged bloke trying to cling to his youth while it slips through his fingers)."Bed is for sleepy people.

FCN = 3 - 5

How does Rapha compare to Assos ?0

never ridden in Assos, can't really provide a informed opinion: So here's an uninformed opinion:
Rapha is more focussed on the sartorial......

i use both Assos and Rapha and one is technical, expensive, looks good (Assos) and the other is subtle, retro (made of wool) expensive, looks good (Rapha). Trust me, you'll get on your EPS wearing the Italian jersey and you'll believe you are DA BOMB! I'm a large Assos but a medium Rapha in sizing.M.Rushton0

I like Rapha better for everything except their bib shorts.
I'm Rapha'd from head to toe, in all but shorts which are Assos F1 Mille S5's. I like Rapha's 3/4's but their bib shorts just don't compare.
Rapha jerseys are so much nicer in my opinion, I don't like the feel of polyester jerseys, Sportwool works well, feels and looks good and wears well.
You pay a lot for either make, and ultimately it will come down to which look you aspire to, Assos is more modern race oriented, Rapha is much more 1950's British Time Trial wear.Complicating matters since 19650 -
i was in Majorca rently and there were posses of Germans clad in Assos. The peoplle I was with had both Assos and rapha and the Rapha did have a certain casual elegance to it whereas the Assos had that gimp, techno look. I'll happily wear both as I'm a casually elegant techno gimpM.Rushton0

Thats your answer then.....If all the Germans are wearing it...it has to be Rapha0
