Same applies to The Wire. (Actually, CP nearly flipped a bin-lid when I asked if that was an I.T. related programme.)

I've started watching The Wire after DDD recommended it. Its jolly good with the sub-titles on. One does find colonial accents a trifle impenetrable occasionally.

I had it commended to me by a couple of mates at work. After getting through S1 and S2, I mentioned that I found the dialogue a touch difficult to follow on occasion.

"Oh, you have to watch it with subtitles," they chorused.

"Yeah, thanks lads," thought I.

Where are the characters meant to be from? What's it about anyway? I, like CJ, had presumed it was some IT/Net thing, rather like a series version of that Sandra Bullock film... or Hackers or something.

The Wire is about the Baltimore narcotics division of the Baltimore PD and the gangs that they are trying to police.

Supposed to be very gritty and realistic. Written by a journo who spent a year shadowing Baltimore PD and also talking to drug dealers.

I'm gonna get a copy as soon as I'm through with the current seasons of The Shield and 24.

And rightly so. Very little TV is unmissable but The Wire falls into that category, excellent stuff. I'm a happy man now beeb are showing all 5 series again.

s'actually about much more than that, takes in local politics, the schools system, print media, drugs, police, dockers etc etc. I enjoyed the shield, but it's lightweight compared to The Wire.

The "wire" in the title refers to the wiretap that the cops set up as part of the investigation into a drug gang.

It's good. You'll never want to visit Baltimore though.

    Well there you go.

I don't really havce sufficient TV time/ SKY+ hard drive space to fit another series into my viewing schedule, unless I find myself on crutches again, which I'm not planning.

Time is set aside for any future series of House, obv.

Heroes = Meh. Series 1 was ok I guess.

The only thing I hate about Heroes is that it has Jeph Loeb associated with it and Loeb destroyed and - comic book phrase = "raped my childhood" with every single comic he has ever taken interest in. The man is the devil incarnate. The man is so evil that upon birth his soul died and that made him even more evil! I hate him! The only thing worse than Loeb is Liefeld.... no that's not possible its a Loeb written Liefeld drawn comic. Jaysus I would prefer a lifetime of water torture....

Wolverine (evolution arc), Ultimates 3, X-Force, Batman Long Halloween, Young X-men and Red Hulk lifting Thor's magical hammer that cannot be lifted unless "he be worthy!" All of it is unforgivable but nothing and I mean nothing is worse (and by that I mean being re-incarnated as Greg66's bike seat) than what that man did to the Great and Godly Mark Millar's Ultimate's. I've ranted and ranted about this too the point that I found my post being quoted on a russian comic book website....

Everything you hate about Heroes is Loeb's fault.

That said the Fallout 3 reference - in the most recent series - was cool!!!

Is X-23 a clone of Wolverine - Complete with scans from th comic book!

Sentry vs Thor - I don't get started until page 2 and continue until page 5

And one of my favourites Who in the Marvel Universe can defeat Superboy Prime

I'm off to the comic book boards to hurl abuse and complain about the price of paper!!!

Thrilling stuff, this entry really grabbed me:

"They were not from two different zygotes, she came from 100% Logan's material (in essence, it makes this monozogotic, not dizogotic like I said earlier) so I would have to say she really is a full-out clone, its just a special case as she is female."

Yeah X-23 isn't a clone of Wolverine that would impy that she is genetically identical, she can't be what with being female... at best she is his sister as they duplicated his X chormosone... great comic though X-23 Innocence Lost

I just had another thought, the X-gene that gives Wolverine and co their powers sits on something like the 13th choromosone. X-23's existence would suggest that the X-gene and thus the next step in human evolution (the leap from Homo-sapien to Homo-superior) sits on the female X-chromosone. Women are the future.....

I'll stop now, I'm watching the new Star Trek tonight, got to get my geek on!!!! :P :P :P

Firstly before I get on my horse, Prime has shown no weakness to magic, given the fear he installed in Mxy.....something.... I'm of the thought that his super durability extends to magic and I wouldn't be surprised if he was super resistant to psychic attacks as well. He is super everything else - Like Pre-Crisis Superman thats: Super strong, fast, durable, agile, intelligent etc. For all those that question his intelligence he rebuilt anti-monitor's armour just by looking at it once.

I once did a skid for 3 days that was so awesome a girl got pregnant just by looking at it.

The battery was out for a re-charge when I was in over my lunch break, overheard one of the guys say that shifting with the front is a bigger drain on the battery then shifting the rear mech, just hope they have decent batteries! Guess as some pro's have used it in races shows that it can last the course tho it's just another thing to put on charge between rides! Garmin, phone, bike...........
