I recently purchased the pbk toolkit - for what seemed like a bargain £28 - today it arrived - blimey lots of bits I don't what they are for !!!

Anyway my first task is to replace a spoke on my rear wheel with a sora sprocket - how can I identify which tools I would need ?

Any websites that can assist - as this is my first foray into cycling maintenace !!

    Kingrollo,
As peanut1978 says: Its pretty straight forward. QR off. Hold the cassette still with the chain wip. Best to lay down the wheel on the floor in my experience. The cassette removal tool is black like a big nut with a pin sticking out the middle, and slots straight into the middle of the cassette. Then use a spanner provided to losen it off whilst still holding the cassette in place with the wip. Simples.
I too have sora, and the PBK toolkit, and managed it ok first time. I even impressed myself being a novice. I'd also say once you get the cassette off stick it in a tub with some petrol, a bit of a scrub with a toothbrush and bingo it looks brand new! Chain in jam jar, with a bit of petrol, shake and bingo again! Soz if this is to much info, or not the recommended done thing but it works for me.

The good news is that I did it - a few confusing moments - but its done.

the bad news - a friend gave me some spokes - so I used on these - to pull the nipple through the hole I had to tighten it quite a bit - the threaded end of the spoke - now protudes almost up to the rim tape - and the wheel is very out of true - have I over tightened it ? - or fitted the wrong size spoke ?

get the feeling i could be doing it all again tomorrow

well spokes come in lots of different lengths. did you find out what length you needed and fitted the correct length?

Sounds like you have fitted an incorrect length spoke. new correct length spoke needed.
