Hi Guys!
Looking for some help here as am kinda a newbie looking to get into the whole cycling
Had my first trip in the rain yesterday and I really enjoyed it despite worrying about it. However, the mud going up my back was something else!
I have a Specialized Expedition Elite 2008 with Amardillo Hermisphere 26inch tyres but I would like mudguards that kinda hides away like a 700c wheel mudguards are like rather than the big sticking out MTB ones.
Can anyone recommend any?
I meant ones that looks like this
This is my bike here
Thanks guys!

For me a full set, I have these on mine and they dont really do a lot of good, I am about to change them so they give me propper protection. As you can see on the back I have moved the mudgaurd further along to try and stop the wet and crap going up my back even this has failed.
This is what I moving to.. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=25794www.justgiving.com/aidyneal Cycling Manchester to Blackpool. Look out for number 16910 -

toybhoy,
this is one of the few cycling questions where there really is a no brain answer - SKS chromoplastics. A little more expensive than some alternatives but they are excellent quality and once fitted don't need adjusting and don't rattle.
Cheers,

^what he says.
SKS can be had from CRC (and probably wiggle) and your LBS, they come ni a variety of diameters and widths to suit your tyre / wheel dims. I suggest you get teh closest fitting set.
a full set of these and you'll wonder why you hesitated. They are wonderful and I wouldn't have a road bike without them unless I was racing (which thankfully we can count out of the equation)
SKS thermoplastics = winEverything in moderation ... except beer
Beer in moderation ... is a waste of beer
If riding an XC race bike is like touching the trail,
then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it
... or being punched by it, depending on the day0 -
Looks like its the SKS thermoplastics for me then if they are defo the best for 26" x 1.95 tyres.
Hopefully it will look nice in my bike.
Thanks guys0 -
Yup, they have wide ones.

I have SKS chromoplastics on both my bikes, but for the hybrid I had to cut down the stays with a hack saw. If you don't want the hassle, get your local bike shop to fit them for you.0

SKS Beavertail mudguards have done my Pylon8 proud for about a month now. There are 3/4 length without stays, but hold their shape fine. Simple bolt through front and rear bridge stays (with clip on support around the base of the seat tube) on the frame. Well spent 13 squids from CRC I think it was...================

SKS Chromoplastics every time.
I've tried assorted clip-on guards, but nothing comes close.Misguided Idealist0
