Royal mail tracking service - am I missing something?

Ordered something from Merlin, they sent me a link to Royal mail tracking service (no problems so far), I follow the link which tells me;

Come back later

Recorded Signed For™ items are only tracked after the item has been delivered.

Now, call me old-fashioned, but what's the point having a tracking service that only tells you when you've actually had your parcel delivered?

I know if it's been delivered, surely, anyone?

its for the person thats sending it. so you can't say " I never received it" and ask them to send another, plus if its a more expensive item you are more likely to get your cash back if its lost or undelivered because the retailer has proof.

I costs more for a tracking number... recorded signed delivery is just confirmation that it has been received.

Especially when your retarded housemate doesn't open the door for anyone, even though she knows she's the only one in the house.

I've had to have 7 parcels re-deivered (which takes 2 days :shock:) because of that fu(ktard. :evil:

btw, write something like "penis" or "cock" etc etc when you sign for it on the machine.... then go and check the tracking number and your signature will be displayed

If the tracking number information is for the sender, why do they give you the details in the first place?

I also find it annoying that I can't track an item until I've received it. What's the bloody point?!!?? :?

its not a tracking number. Its a delivery confirmation signature.

A tracking number is completely different. I've had quite a few, they tell you what depot you parcel is going to/at/left and if/when it has been put in a truck to be delivered to your door.

Signatures are just a safety net if your parcel is lost or undelivered.
