Hello all,

Have my first sportive coming up and wanted the opinion on the comfort factor ( ranking ) of these three bib shorts.

Assos Mille
Giordana Body Clone Forma
Giordana Forma

My major concern is post 3 hours, under carriage comfort!
secondly my wallet!

Thoughts / experiences?

I have some Giordana Body Clone bib shorts and they're very comfy even after six hours in the saddle.

Do you seriously have to ask this question? You won't get the comfort or quality with the two Giordanas.

    Assos every time!

Forget the Assos fans and buy DHB - fraction of the cost and for me - comfier.

My Assos shorts are like a big nappy. A nice looking well made nappy, but a nappy none the less ! Not impressed for the cost.

Just shows that everyones bums are different !

Cougie's persisting with this nappy business. We demand to know what comparisons he has made!

    Asso any day.

I've got Giordana Tenax's, which I believe have a similar chamois to the body clone's, as well as various pairs of Assos bibshorts and the Giordana's are no where near as comfy.

I think you need to try them on. I recently went to get some bibshorts - tried on the Assos and the Giordana and preferred the fit of the latter.

Thanks for al the replies, Bit of a mixed bag of opinions.
My Bum gets really sore after a few hours on my toupe saddle with cheap DHB's

Looks as if i will go the assos route ...so went down LBS this week end .. Assos mille. .large were really tight ( i am 5 11 and 34 inch waist a solid 80kgs, even when bent into cycle position. XL seemed right. slight tug when standing. The pad did not seem any thing special.

So is the S5 mille pad still as good as the S2 was claimed to be?

    Thanks

It's not how the pad seems. It's how it feels

You'll realise how special the pad is when you have had some serious miles in them. Give it a month and you'll see what I mean.

I have the Body Clones, very comfy for 8 hrs of a wet etape last year. No rashes or worrying numbness.

Assos however have legendary comfort and aftercare - I've heard of people sending them back for repair after a spill and getting new kit by return.
