Hi there,

Im looking for a cyclocross wheelset, I am putting together a cross bike with the kinesis crosslight 4T frame.

Im not sure what sort of wheelset I need!

Have been looking on All Terrain Cycles, as they do custom build wheels, mavic open sport, or A119 on shimano 105 hubs, 32 or 36 spoke?

Im 6 foot 5" and weigh somewhere between 13-14 stone.

Can anyone give any help? or advise me on a prebuilt set instead? Easton EA50 SL?

Thanks for your help

Hal

  • If it helps any I've just built myself a pair for 'cross using 105 hubs, open pros and 32 DT revolutions. I haven't raced them yet (lameness on my part) but they're pretty sweet.

A lot of people run tubs for cross - lower pressures and less risk of pinch-flats. I'm building some wheels using NOS Mavic CXP30 sprint rims from ebay and probably some Miche hubs. Strength and durablity are most important rather than weight.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
