British Bike Brands and General Swag

Guys,

With the recesion biting hard I think now is the time to really support the British cycling brands. I don't really identify with Italian or Swiss makes, when I am on my training camp in Spain next year I want to locals to know I am a Britsh cyclist. I'm looking to put my money in the brands which represent the Britsh cycling renaissance. So my questions are who are the Britsh brands which make race level bikes (I can think of Pearson, Dolan, Condor and Boardman? Any more?), and which British brands make decent clothes and accessories (are Rapha Britsh? I like Endura who else?)

Cheers
Max

I forgot about Shutt, I was thinking about them yesterday and thought "I must look at their website". I then saw a foxy lady on 'This Morning' and my thoughts went elsewhere.

The brands might be British, but in all probability the products are made in the far east - I don't have a great deal of loyalty for Taiwanese workers. I buy products based on design, performance and reliability - where it's made is a distant fourth.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Pearson frames are made in Taiwan, as are Dolan and Boardman. I think the majority of Condor frames are made in Italy.

I thought the Buy British campaign was torpedoed by Thatcher back in the eighties when her policies wiped out large swathes of the British manufacturing industry.

Buying British is a form of protectionism.

Protectionism was what turned a global recession into a global depression in the early '30s.

    Go figure.

Buy the best there is for the best price there is. If everyone does that, the economic world will keep turning.
Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.

I agree that those colomba jerseys look great! Much nicer than the Rapha offerings in my opinion.
