im wondering what seat posts the tall guys use? - im advised to get a large frame - 20"+ as im 6'2 but feel i want more'jewel' clearance and so thinking smaller frame( not too ridiculous) and longer seat post - seams the ones im looking at only have asafe limit of around7" or so
is there an industry standard on this? im particulalry rotund ( love that word meaning fat) so dont want to use a post on full height due to concerns of strength etc( might be paranoid but id rather have more than 2 inch of alloy in the frame supporting my fat arse)
thoughts on a postcard please
cheers

Total length. But even if the minimun insertion is 4 inches, you still have 10 inches to play with.0

Hehe, I thought that might get a comment!
The post (350mm) should be fine if 7 inches is all you need ;-)0 -
My post is longer than most you'll see out there, at 400mm (that's 15.7 inches- I believe inches are more traditional for measuring such mighty appendages), but even my massive length is put to shame by that Thomson, with his 410mm monster. I think Thomson's is stiffer too.Uncompromising extremist0

Roox used to do a monstrous 450mm post! Thats nearly 18 inches!0
