So i was looking at a hardcore hardtrail that'll take a fair few knocks. Looking around for prices i came up with this.
Frame : On-one 426
Forks : PUSH-ED Pike forks
Gears SLX group set
Wheels wondering if hope pro II's on DT 5.1 would take enough abuse
Can sort the finishing kit myslef
The price it would come to is around 1,300 does this seem a good build?

Do you mean an On-One 456, or is this a different model I'm not familiar with? Other option would be to wait a little while and see what the Ragley Blue Pig is like.
Pro II's on DT 5.1 sound OK, perhaps Mavic 321s instead?
Sounds like a nice bike anyway.0 -
Aye the 456 sorry thinking of the pikes. Also what the SLX brakes like?0
-
They're supposed to be pretty good, what's the pricing like compared to the Avid Elixir?0

Im going for this groupset so i can save abit of money

Its around £70 diffrence. Maybe to start with build it up with singlespeed then get the gears for christmas not in a groupset
What about the 20mm Revalations?
These are the choice of rims i got
- DT 4.2
- DT 5.1
- Mavic 521
- Mavic 721
- Mavic 717 Disc
- Stans 355
- Stans Flow0 -

what about 819`s0 -
Will these 819 take alot of abuse because i tend to break things0
-
i am 19st running on a 28 hole hub.
changed to these as i kept brakeing spokes not had one go for ages(oops  )
plus the added benifit of being able to go tubeless0 -
Fair enough
Is the PUSHED tuning worth it?0 -
If you wait till xmas to buy gears,
1) Your trails will be wet, so mud + water = grinding paste. Plus, if it's really muddy, you'll be riding in one gear anyway.
2) If you wait that long to get Shimano groupset, it'll probably cost a million quid, with inflation etc at the minute.
So, either get gears now, or singlespeed it up for good, IMHO.
'Sup to you!
But pics when it's together! 8)Boo-yah mofo
Sick to the power of rad
Fix it 'till it's broke0 -
not sure but have you had a look at merlin 09 reverlations £170 off rrp
any help0 -
I want the 20mm maxle for the stiffness as im riding a QR at the moment and i can feel it bending
So far i have got
On-one 456 :£175:00
Pike Forks 426: £300.00 Probaly get pushed when goes in for a service ends up same price
SLX group set: £380.00
Wheels: Hope pro II's on DT 5.1? £285.00
Comes to £1140.00
Seems reasonable the finishing kit will be bought from my LBS0 -

It is if you know what you want. It may be better for you after, but it is hard to telll beforehand.0 -
Ok , Cheers does that seem a solid build able to take big hits?0
-
Its probably best to buy non-pushed forks at first, but when the service is due (usually around £60), ask them to PUSH them at around £50-60 extra. That's my plan at least0
-
Yeah then i know what i would like from them. I was looking at a dialled alpine but the frame is more and the forks would cost more (If i cant find any domains). What do you think?0
-
I forgot to mention, I think 1300 quid is very steep for that build (compared to an off the peg build). But as is done from scratch you do pay more, and especially from the LBS.0
-
Yeah it probaly wil be, but i want to build a bike up from scratch0
