Anyone thinking of buying a bike must go to your LBS; I cannot sing their praises high enough, after the attention to detail, and consideration given to making a purchase. If you live in the Ipswich area I can strongly recommend:

Life Cycles Uk (Bildeston)
108 High Street
Bildeston
Suffolk
IP7 7ED
Phone: 01449 744467
Fax: 01449 744467

A small shop in Bildeston and very busy, Mid to High range bikes.

I'm a big believer in supporting your LBS, providing it's a good one.

Fortunately my LBS is very good.

Like anything you can get good and bad and it is no different for bike shops however I would agree that a good LBS is worth its weight in gold.

absolutely. Also have a great LBS, although it specialises in off road, and I've just made the switch to being a Roadie.

    So 2 questions:

Is there a good personal LBS for Roadies in Wimbledon / South West London?
Is there a list of recommended LBS'

Oh and Moose Cycles, Colliers Wood, London. Fantastic.

I bought all my frames and parts online. But used to go into my LBS to build up the bikes (with their mechanic - it was a joint effort). But I still buy as many supplies as I can from them - to offset the free services they give me!

Also try Prologue in East Sheen. They have a lot of high-end stuff, but the guys there seem really friendly and don't mind helping a beginner like me!

Have to say I've visited Hanna's in Lisburn, Northern Ireland a few times of late and have been impressed by their attitude and stock of Trek bikes...

If you live in Kent, get over to either Senacre Cycles near Maidstone or WildSide in Tunbridge Wells. Both great service and knowledge.
