Sore Knees

I've not ridden for 4 days now but each day I've had more & more sore knees especially when waking up first thing in the morning. If it is the bike which is doing them, would it be that perhaps I have my seat too high? Pedalling itself feels great, I lowered it a tad when my ankles/feet started feeling strained but maybe not enough for my knees benefit? Could it simply be that because i've not ridden for so long that a few weeks has done this but it'll go if I continue to ride gently?

If you ride a lot it might be wise to get a bike fit. There's plenty online to guide you on how to set up a bike correctly assuming your bike is the correct symmetry and size for you.0
