Gear hub users - Would you like to be able to use drop bars?

I've had an idea for modifying a Campagnolo Ergopower lever to work with a hub gear (not a Rohloff due to the dual control levers). The question is, would anyone else be interested in this modification?
The only thing stopping me from using a gear hub on my tourer at the moment is the fact that I can't run drops (unless I use a bar end shifter, which I'd prefer not to). Is anyone else in the same position?
If you would like it, and have a hub already, how would you like to help me create and test the idea later this year? I can't afford a hub at the moment to test it properly...
