Just got back from Afan, Its up there as one of the Top 10 places to ride before you die but what are the others ? Whisltler and Moab in Utah are gonna be 2 but what are the others ?

Also what other trail centres are there that have the same choice of trails as Afan ? Any suggestions for weekend breaks in the UK ?

No way are you one of those riders. If you are, I WILL shoot you

How about Chamonix, and the Megavalanche (or howver the hell you want to spell the damn word).

    Or the Alps in general.

    Sierra Nevada in Spain??

Unfortuantely I am not one of the riders! I have ridden the area :D but not got myself Heli biking yet

Worth noting is that the Helli Biking trip in the photo only sets you back ~£140 for the day, not bad for a one off I reckon.

Afan is fairly high on my places for best places ive rode, would also recommend Laggan Wolftrax and Golspie, 2 great scottish trails!

    How about North Wales?

I ride Coed Y Brenin about twice a week and can't recommend it enough. There is also Llandegla, Penmachno and the Marin to choose from.

7 Stanes wise i have only done Kirroughtree, what a place! I am going back this year to do it again and probably Glentress and Dalbeattie.

I went to Afan for the easter bank holiday weekend, next trip is to North Wales - going to Coed Y Brenin in 3 weeks for the next bank holiday weekend.

Seems from what I've seen (youtube) and read, they are similar centres with well planned out routes, just wish I lived closer!

Heading up to Fort William sometime in the sumemr aswell - Can't wait for that one!

    Afan?
    okay, I won't diss, I haven't been there...yet

what about something on a bigger scale
    Portes du Solei (spelt wrong)
    Moab
    Marin country
    Whistler
    Fort William
Lake Garda (in Italy I think)
    Andora
    Equador (yes, all of it)
    Yellow moutains in China
okay then, Afan - seeing as I have one space left...

Whistler/BC has to be up there surely.

Doing Megavalanche this year and I reckon that's one of em!

The Megavalanche on Reunion Island or the one in S America sounds great too.

    Moab

Don't get me wrong, Llandegla is pretty fun (don't miss out the blacks though kiddies other wise it's a dull place and the blacks aren't all that black) but it's hardly in the 10 places to ride before you die.

    Wharncliffe. Now there's a shock.

But I'd like to ride the Himalaya, New Zealand, Grand Canyon, Laguna and a whole host of places.

    1. Portes du Soleil tour
    2. Sauze d'Oulx freeride
    3. Iberia in winter
    4. Fort Bill worlds trail
    5. Norways bikeparks
    6. Chamonix guided rides
    7. Alpe d'Huez Mega Avalanche
    8. Golspie XC
    9. The ultimate trail, Verbier
    10. Lake Garda inc. a dip in the lake at the bottom

I can't actually take credit for this list, its from the 'Mountain Biking Europe' book (aka The Bible in my biking circle) theres another section about 'best and worst' for sunshine, uk, gravity trails, scenery, busiest trails/lifts, weather, transfers and opening times.

Might slap em on here in a bit, back to the Uni work, its what i get for biking instead of doing assignments

Someone mentioned Glentress up the page, sure it's a great place with its variety of challenge and trail styles, and excellent facilities, but the riding's not incredible... Good but not "10 places in the world" good
