I was looking at steel and decided on Ti for exactly the same reasons as you.

The name Etape would suggest that it is suited for long sportives - the geometry looks very relaxed... My fave looking Enigma is definitely the one with the standard geometry - the Esprit.

I have an Esprit and can confirm it's a fantastic bike. It looks great and rides superbly.

Why not speak with Mark at Enigma - they do custom builds and it would be quite easy for him to spec up either an Esprit with clearance and bosses, or an Etape with a flat top tube - best of both worlds then! Mark's really helpful, and a true expert in his field.
