Help with frame size of Scott Sub 20 and components

I saw a good deal on a a Scott SUB 20. I want a bike to commute and for small tours.
My dilemma is the frame size. I am 168 cm "short" but I have even shorter legs (30") and I am not sure if I should go with the S or the M frame size. I am worried that there would be not enough room for side bags on the small frame. But the taller frame gives better is longer, which is a riding position I am more used to from my MTB.
Any general feedbacl about that bike and the components would be also apreciated.

Just googled it and it appears that bike is basically a MTB anyway but anyhoo you're not particularly short and you're not particularly short legged either :? I'd say M would be better but best thing is to try them and then decide. Either that or get a 'proper' road bike if you have a MTB already you could put road slicks on it and it would be simlar.
