Thanks, pretty happy with how to go about joining a chain but much prefer having a quick link to make life easy when it comes to cleaning etc

I've used a KMC Shimano quick link on my Campag chains for the past year without realising until I bought a pair of new ones from Wiggle.
Worked fine with no problems at all.
Its only a difference of 0.5mm.Not sure it would work ok the other way round though?0 -

Seems like I remember once using an 8 speed master link on a ten speed chain. It was an emergency fix, middle of nowhere, type of thing but it worked and got the guy home(with
a bit of clicking but nothing got trashed).

I did use a normal KMC link on a campag chain but it had a habit of sticking on the big ring when shifting down. However I guess that's an isolated situation but I wouldn't do it again.0
