At what point of fitting headset spacers do you think, Mmm, there's one too many on there?

There's more steerer out of the frame than in it FFS!

Do you get the feelilng that the owner could have done with ordering a larger sized frame

I get the feeling he's paid good money for it and thinking to himself "by the love of God it will fit me"

Na, smaller frame is a weight saving!

Storck is the wrong name for that bike, Emu is more suitable
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I would say that the owner is either a woman or a man of woman-like proportions. They've bought a small frame to get the right reach for their short upper body and then had to put the saddle right up to get it to fit their relatively long legs. If they didn't raise the bars like that they'd be reaching down an awfully long way.

Doesn't look good though, does it! I'd want a bike more suitable for my particular body, rather than trying to make that one fit.

Isn't there a fashion among racers to have the smallest possible frame and then make it fit? This may be an extreme example. Or maybe not. :?

There is no saddle to bar drop, either the rider has no flexibility or can't be arsed getting used to a proper position, either way it's all wrong.

I'm thinking the rider must have back problem or something.

I'm thinking the rider wanted a small frame so they could build up a really light bike (hence it being on weightweenies). Chances are thatwhen the realised it wouldn't fit or they were too scared to cut down the steerer tube, they decided to advertise it for sale :-)

Doesn't look too bad for $1500 either....

Any amount of spacers is too many.

    Slam it, every time :D

That's a liability - the bending load on the steerer will probably lead to premature failure. 2-3x diameter is the maximum recommended - but anything beyond 50mm suggests that the frame is the wrong size. I don't care how light it is - it's fugly!

Absolutely, I have 40mm of spacers on my Roubaix (including headset spacer) but I still think I have too many on the bike. I would cut the steerer tube down but I'm a little nervous cutting carbon...

    Sweet.

I definitely need to get a 40cm frame and do that. I could cobble some seat posts together too (or scafholding poles).

    I like it

Maybe they spent a lot of money on it as a teenager, had a growth spurt and couldn't bear to part with it?

But are of course prepared to part with their life upon meeting a pothole at speed.

If only I'd had the imagination, I could have done the same to my Super Burner thus saving £££s over 25 years of cycling!!!
