Knee/shin pad size choice?

Im lookingat buying some knee/shin guards online but im not sure what size to get?

How do I tell if my knees are s/m or l/xl?

which make of knee shin pads after and how tall are you, im 5ft 11and got 661s and they are size med and fit good, although im getting the 661 race ones and be looking at size med too, also look at CRC as they have size guides on there too
