  • ahh cheers... I did try a search but I always seem to find kak using it
still haven't figured out how to use it!!

I'm well excited about this actually. got my bro txting me with places to stay atm lol. Just can wait to get back home and see some mountains!
  • Which way is the best ride then?

    from patterdale or pooley?!

Whichever suits you best. I'm not being funny, but get the map out. By map I mean paper map. You'll have to carry one with you so get the 1:25,000 which tells you all you need to know. If you're riding anywhere away from a trail centre you'll need a map. You should have a collection. They come in most useful as something to read in the smallest room!

You'll be able to plot your route and decide which you personally prefer. Everyone has their own opinions, and there are so many alternatives that it's impossible for anyone to tell you what you'll enjoy best.

Oh yeah I know that :)
I was just wondering what preferences people have.
Actually just ordered a map 2 seconds ago lol.

For those a bit worried about tired legs, and you will hyave so make sure your fitness is good.

Another good route is start at Pooley Bridge to Boredale Hause and take the left path going back onyourself and climbing. This gives a lovely single track descent to Dale Head the follow the road back.

Alternatively to avoid the big hike up to the high street follow the path from Boredale via Angle Tarn to join the High Street. Its a footpath so walk as is not rideable anyway, it's quite a long walk though.

Some seem a little unsure about the map directions?? I really would not do the High Street unless you are fully kitted up and confident with maps.
  • Nah, I understand your directions alright :)

Had a quick look as OS online maps and it seems like it should be fine to navigate with the proper map :)

Looking at your link the Borrowdale loop sticks out.

It's an ace loop, but very rocky and technical in places.

Grizedale is always a good place, so many good paths there.

The skiddaw loop is good also.

Look at thsi link for those routes and hight street
