  • I put mine to 50 (they had a max of 65 and min of 35) and they've lost maybe 5psi & it feels best for overall compromise.

depends, on road up to the max, off road 30-40 depending on conditions.

I run the front a little lower to get more grip & the rear being a little harder is a bit less prone to pinch flat.

well i did 40 psi and seems fine:)

    random question here:

is there a special way to dry a camelback bladder? or can i just peg it on my line and let it dry out?

I run about 38-40 front and about 43-45 at the back.

I currently hang my camelbak bladder in the shower to dry. There is a special drying thingy you can buy that goes inside it so the whole thing dries properly but I'm clueless as to its effectiveness.

Rinse it and then stick it in the freezer.

Rinse it and then stick it in the freezer.

 that seems insane idea, the water will freeze and from what i remember at science the plastic will lose its strength..

Not in Camelbak bladders case,it is a tried and tested way of making sure your bladder stays clean and bacteria free 8)
If you're not confident then go to your local sports shop and get a pack(6 usually) of those practice golf balls with holes in them(£2) and fill the bladder with them, hang it for a few hours and it'll do the trick, cheaper than the Camelbak hanger kit(£10).This WAS the method i used, however the tube, over time, gets little black specks in it(bacteria). So either buy a tube cleaning brush(£6-ish)or do the freezer method to prevent this 8)
On the 1st subject of tyres i run 28F and 34R.I weigh 13.5stone.

I run 40psi on the front an 42psi on the back on my kenda nevegals, It's about as low as is tolerable on the short road sections I use to get to local trails.

If you have space in there leave it until you need it again.Just rinse it out give it a shake to get most of the fluid out and bung it in there.

I do fairly aggressive XC and use about 25psi F/R max. On road, I'd go for above 40psi.

p.s. If you think thats too low, I've not had a puntcture in about 18months and many, many miles of use through town and evil thorn bushes. I use 110psi in the tyres on my road bike.

FCN 3 or 4 on road depending on clothing
FCN 8 off road because I'm too old to go racing around.

On the subject of Camelbaks, does anyone keep losing the big bite valves? I thnk I'm getting through them at a rate of one a week or so....I shove it on really tight as far as it goes, but the camelbak big-bite monster keeps stealing them back  Any tips that don't involve super glue to help me keep one for more than a few days?

Cut off the last half inch of hose- sounds like the end has stretched a bit, so this'll get you to a fresh bit which should be tighter.
