The poor young things that think it looks good having their jeans hanging half way down their backside!

Still, I did find out why this clothing 'fashion statement' is in existence... which made it a bit more interesting. Young kids from 'the hood' in the US wore their elder brothers' hand me downs deliberately in order to show that they had an older brother and weren't to be messed with in a hurry.

Young lads from the Sussex villages do look a bit idiotic dressed in that stylee though

But I am in my late 30s, therefore past it in their eyes - so what do I know?

Homer Simpson: “I wish. We were bicycling to a lake.”

Curious. The way I heard it was that in US gaols they had a one-size-fits-all policy on prison clothing. Naturally that was outsize. The implication was much the same: That they were ex-cons and therefore 'hard'.

I've often wondered if this is a secret code for homosexuality.Showing your ass this way to the whole world is a bit obvious though.

The whole idea of the "SCN" or whatever it is acronym for a score which a small subset of cycling commuters award themselves for overtaking people on better bikes than themselves.

I always find it much easier to win ANY race or competition when the other participants are not aware they are competing.

I find people who seem to lack a sense of humour a little tragic

Those who don't understand that the 's' in SCR (SILLY commuting racing) implies what the whole thing is about.

A bit of fun to break up the morning and evening commute

Even more curious I always heard it was a way for homosexual inmates in American goals to tell other inmates that they were, er, in the mood / available.

True, though many of its participants who reel off tales of bravado and multiple scalps seem to treat the "s" in SRC as Serious rather than Silly :)

Heh heh, the very fact that SCR is being defended is making it serious!

I also pity the fools who don't make time for themselves to do fun things because they are 'too busy with work and whatnot'...

I pity the fools who in pubs stand/sit in groups all with mobiles, texting and chatting on them instead of getting on through the power of speech to each other. Maybe I'm too old, (38) but it would kill me going out now and someone I am chatting to is texting or being phoned every 2 seconds, grrr, makes me wibble just thinking about it.

I actually saw some documentary that said it was linked to looking hard due to american prisons not giving them belts to stop them hanging themselves , hence the ass pants look that says im hard i have been to jail
