    Here's a dumb question(maybe - probably). Can you get lequipe in English on the web?

    Interesting reason: "the conduct of Theo Bos was an affront to the image, reputation and interests of cycling".

    Similar to when you hear about footballers getting banned for "bringing the game into disrepute".

    1-6 months seems like a wide range to me. 6 months would be harsh.

    I would say he got off lightly if it's only a 6 month ban.Pure thugery on a bike not to say the injury he could have cause to a fellow pro.

    "Could have"? Did you see the list of Impey's injuries? Two fractured vertebrae, fractured cheekbone, several teeth missing and a deep cut in his mouth. He's going to be out of action for weeks.

    Do that outside of a sporting arena and you go to jail

    I'm still very much of the mind that he didnt throw the guy into the barriers.

    I think the UCI have bowed to the baying crowds - much like the BBC did with the Ross/Brand controversy.

    If it was clean cut - he would have been banned within days ?

    Maybe it took the shock of what happened to die down! :shock:

    We are talking about the UCI here, this is probably as close as it gets to swift justice, unless you've taken McQuaid's space in the car park...

    Swift "justice"? What utter tosh! This is just a kangaroo court. :roll:

    Not wishing to make any judgement on whether their decision was fair or not, more a comment on the "swift" part of "swift justice". The debate over the Bos incident has already been played out to death on another thread.

    Not wishing to restart that debate, but I would be disappointed if he was allowed to restart racing before Impey is recovered enough to be racing also.

    I feel it, when I sorrow most;
    'Tis better to have loved and lost;
    Than never to have loved at all."

  • Regardless of whether he meant to pull Impey down, Bos broke the rule that you can't take your hands off the handlebar at that point in the sprint so should get something for that alone.

    My initial reaction to it was that he did it on purpose and should get banned but watching it again and listening to Bos, I guess when you're travelling towards a metal barrier at 60kph natural instincts kick in.
