I remember the accident, awful to watch, one thing that still upsets me to this day is all the people that forgot Ratzenberger dying the same weekend...

I was in the car on holiday when it happened. Listened to the race on the radio and I remember asking my Dad what "clinically dead" meant, burst into tears when he told me."The problem was, I was still using my eyes even though I had them shut"

Was working that weekend and listening on the radio, was quite "emotional" what with watching Roland Ratzenberger dieing a day before on Eurosport.
The only other time I'd know of a death was Paul Warrick being killed at Oulton Park. Spoke to him the day earlier, put me off going for some time.
Got a picture of me as a kid standing next to a Formula Ford car at Oulton Park with the name "A De Silva" on the side!
Also saw him at the Grand Prix at Silverstone, think it was 91 when a mate of mine had managed to get pit passes (not for the pit walkout – but genuine pit passes courtesy of Delongi who used to sponsor Lotus) that will never happen again!!!______________________________________________

A sad day indeed. Could have been even worse, Barichello somhow survived this:

Does anyone remember Donnington - we went to the qualifying and camped in Mud about 1 foot deep what a first lap (went home for the race) - he also set the fastest lap going through the pit lane!
I think that was one of the best seasons he had, his car was uncompetitive and he was racing on a race by race basis!
Was that the same season that ended in Australia and if memory serves me when Senna and Prost climbed onto the 1st place podium together, a tradition now carried on today where all drivers stand on the 1st place podium together - I've always assumed it was from then?______________________________________________
