moan moan moan etc... yadda yadda,, feel my pain..lol

Gutted, just been told by Edinburgh bikes that the Pitch Comp has all sold out and Specialized are not releasing any more of the Comp nor Pro models THIS YEAR, due to all gone gone gone..as gone as that old Texan dude who married that girl with the big h00ters.

So it's back to the drawing board to get something like the Pitch Comp for around (under) £1k....

sometimes I hate my life..pmsl ;-) (joke)

Gman (today is moaning)

2009 models became available in September 2008 so you've had 7 months to buy it ;)

Think it had a lot to do with several rave reviews in the comics at pretty much the same time.

I bought a Specialized bike in September and because it was a 2008 model and the 2009 models were out it was 500 squids off.I was well chuffed.Your pain is someone else`s gain, {mine}.

ahhh I know I know, but I got a hardtail last year so wasn't inline for the beauty that it is... and especially with 99 kids to feed and the drainage in the lower field always needs fixing...;)

what happened to the DH bike idea?

cool, thanks for that matey, am now gonna contact their customer services department and let them know they are still available. thanks again IOU a cyber pint
  • Tis true that Spesh have had a very good year in the UK across their range of bikes. I just managed to get my hands on an Allez sport a couple of weeks ago (& no I wont be taking it DH @ Pitfichie :) ); had to travel outwith Aberdeen to get it as it was selling out fast. However the frustrating thing is I've heard that Specialized have the extra stock in Europe but it is currently too exspensive to import them into the UK due to the euro exchange rate.....

I doubt you`ll get it at at Edinburgh cycles if they`ve got none left, you might have to go somewhere else.

I've just emailed their customer services with the link to Evans cycles... thing is we are tied to Edinburgh (not litterally) through our bike2work scheme, bit shitty I know. Will wait to see what they say... last resort could be using the girl at halfords head office and see what they can do in way of getting the pitch.. they got my mate the cube reaction last season.

Really nice... lots of bounce. Will be a million times better than a pitch at DH.

can still ride it uphills, but its hard. (brother has one, very nice on the downs).

There was a few in Grafham bike shop 2 weeks ago, dunno what sizes, but I was so close to getting one... ended up with the Dawg Supreme from 2008 instead, maybe worth emailing rutland cycling to check their stock - They may have one in your size!!!

No harm in trying if you want it that bad.

I know how you feel (sort of) all the Endruo Pro's were gone back in 06 when I wanted one so got a Expert and upgraded it.

Also I really want a fan-boy Cove Freeride jearsey, CRC seems to be the only place on earth that had them, weeks and weeks they were there with no photo (and obviously I'm not buying a jersey without knowing what it looks like) photo goes on and they're sold out in days.

    Cannondale Prophet?

I really think that Spesh made the Pitches for little profit. If they release them next year I can't see them being as cheap.

Seeing the US prices I have to agree with you. RRP for a Pitch Pro is $2800 (with sales tax to be added on top of that). Price for a Stumpjumper FSR Comp is $2500. I believe the UK RRP for the Stumpy is about £1500, so maybe £1700 for a rereleased Pitch Pro?

$2800 buys quite a lot of bike here, another couple of hundred dollars and you can get a Santa Cruz Blur LT with a decent spec. My Trek Fuel Ex 8 (bit of a different bike, granted) was $2400.

Got my Pitch Comp last night from Halfords, via C2W. How tall/big are you? I'm 5'10/11"ish and 100kg  and a medium is a nice, if a little tight fit. A slightly longer stem and a throw back seat post will sort that out. Its a nice bike. Only had a quick blast last night, but it does seem to be lovely bike. Was dropping down some 50 degree 10ft high slopes (side of a reservior) on it last night as if they werent there.
Just need a stem and seat post and I think we will be there... oh and some stiffer springs for the shocks cos I am a lardy git

Just rotated my bars round, so that the rise is just ahead of vertical. Maked (or made) loads of difference. Played about with the brakes and shifters too, slung the seat as far back as it will go. Feels nice. If you can, test ride one in medium first. And if you can get them to put differnet spec springs in, then ace.
