I ride a Trek 6700 4-5 times a week.

Have just changed the chain to SRAM 991

I think i now need to change the rear cassette.

What difference is there between Deore / LX / XT

Is the XT worth the price difference.

The XT is well worth the extra money. Every one I know who has upgraded from Deore/LX to XT says that the shifting quality is much improved. I realise that this may by down to worn parts verses new parts but even an LX with 5 hours use was improved on by the XT.

+1 for the XT cassette - alloy carrier, so wont bite into your freehub (esp if you're running Pro IIs). worth the dosh anyday
