Garmin Edge 205 saving courses?

I have created some courses on my 205 unit from routes I have previously cycled.

is there a way to back them up (and load them later) so all the speed data is correct so my virtual partner will always be versus my best time.

If I export the course in sport tracks the .gpx file doesn't keep this info
