Tyres for the lakes? (another boring "what tyre?")

Looking for new rubber for an upcoming visit to the lakes, I really like the racing ralph/nobby nic combo on my hard tail but am looking for something a little more hard wearing perhaps for my trance.

Needs to be fast-rolling if poss and light-ish but suitable for the kind of terrain the lakes offers.

Any advice appreciated.

How about some burly 2.4 snakeskin Nics ? I'd like to try them myself but not at £42.

I bought some Schwalbe Fat Alberts for the rear wheel, gripped to everything! Got it for £20 too :)

climbing up whinlatter, not a single wheelspin even when standing up. Other routes in lakes are a lot more rocky, so might be even better for that...
