current mtb pedals vs new roadies

evening all, using my m540s mtb & spesh sport mtb shoes from my old mtb still at mo', doing ok too i think, done a interval training 22miler other day in 1.03hr, question is if change to speedplays and road specific shoes would i see a bit of an improvement? :?

    Doubt it.

    Lots of roadies use mtb pedals and there have been many threads on here debating how much better road pedals are. The general consencous is that road shoes & pedals tend to be more comfortable over longer distances and slighty more effiecent.
