Revolution Shadow Road + short legs

Hi all,
I really (really REALLY) like the look of Edinburgh Cycle Coop's Revolution Shadow Road (http://tinyurl.com/cwzg8l), but I've got a couple of worries about the fit: I read in the bikeradar review that it "bucks the trend towards more upright set-ups with a traditional-style frame geometry."
I've got short legs (or a long back!) for my height: about 28.5" inside leg and I'm 5' 8". On my current compact frame (Specialized Allez 54cm) I feel have to choose between having the reach right (but sitting too far back to pedal just right) or having my knees in the right place (but being a bit cramped in the arms).
So (getting to the point) I would guess that a "more traditional" geometry might be *better* for me, since the seat tube will be nearer to the vertical -- but have I got it all the wrong way round? My head hurts.
cheers
