Hi All

I'm new to this forum. I'm looking to buy a bike, and have seen that Halfords have 20% off all GTs.

I was considering the GT Avalanche 3.0, but thought that this would offer a better deal.

The GT Aggressor XC 2 is £360 on offer; the XC 3 is £280

Is the £80 difference worth it from the 3 to the 2?

Cheers for any help in this; much appreciated :D

    I'd definatley pay the extra.

AFAIK you get hydraulic disc brakes, a better fork and 27 speed transmission on the XC2

    Correct me if I'm wrong

    +1

the fork on the XC2 has lock-out which is a good thing to have speciall if you usethe bike for commuting on road. the Deroe components are definately worth the extra money for as they are strong and last longer.

Quick check at halfords; XC2 gets you 27 speed, better fork with lock out, deore as opposed to acera for mechs and shifters (which feel sweeter), better wheels and tyres. With 20% off it'd be worth a punt but you'd have to sit on both and think about where you're going to ride, type of riding, etc. If all you're ever going to do is light weekend trails with little to no hills involved do you really need the extra? Feel of both bikes after trying out - and cash flow, should determine questions like this for you. :)
