I am currently using keos but on a couple of occasions I have missed clipping in when leaving lights and I am sure I looked a right prat as on the last occasion I nearly came off.I was thinking of moving to speedplay as they are double sided.Anyone any thoughts on the matter.Cheers

Speedplay every time for me. Couldn't be doing with all that one sided entry only nonsense! Of course, that's just my humble opinion you understand.Jared0

+1. I have tried Keos but ended up putting them on ebay. The only negative for Speedplay is mud getting stuck in the cleats. So be careful where you put your foot down and go for wee, especially in the winter.Pegoretti

I have keo classic pedals on my bianchi. My new bike is on order, and I was going to get some more keos. I never really had a problem with them but having looked at the speedplay am seriously tempted? Are they that good? They look like they will wear out or snap off, as there's not much to them is there! I take it those who have moved over haven't had any issues whatsoever, and think there much better?"I spend my petrol money on Bikes, Beer, Pizza, and Donuts "

I have never had any issues or breakages, and I use the ultra-light titanium Zero's. Doing about 800 miles a month at the moment and weigh 75 kgs (12st).
I also use the speedplay titanium Frogs for my xc enduro season, and they are just as good.
Quite simply, just buy them !!!Jared0 -
+1 for Speedplay.
I've had a pair of Stainless Speedplay zeros for 4 years and I must have have done 10,000+ miles on them, with only occasional maintenance.
They are quite expensive but well worth it in the long run.Tearfund Tour of Scotland 26th May to 1st June 2013

Although I'm having ''issues'' chosing bib shorts and a saddle at the mo, I've made my mind up - Speedplay pedals will be crewed up with the new Ribble! I knew I could be decisive."I spend my petrol money on Bikes, Beer, Pizza, and Donuts "

I have two pairs of speedplay X2's on my road bikes and also a couple of [airs of their speedplay frogs on my touring and commuter bikes. Both types are marvelous. The X2's have outlived just about evry other component on the bike, they must have done almost 20,000 miles. The grease port and quality bearings make them last forever.
I also like the black-velvet lined display box that they come in.
If you go for zeros or X2, make sure you buy some spare cleat bolts (the M4 ones for the outer plate) because these can have a habit of falling out and getting lost if you don't get the torque right (also invest in a tube of thread adhesive to help prevent this)0 -
and in case you've not got the message, another vote for the speedplay's. I've got a couple of pairs and intend to stay with them"The only absolute statement is that everything is relative" - anon0
