The student loans company are very kindly donating 1.3 grand to the whyamihere cycling fund tomorrow. I've decided it's time to see what all the fuss is about regarding Assos shorts.

Cheapest I've found is £80 for F1.13 S2s at Parker (there are F1.Milles for a tenner less, but they're yellow...). I'll most likely be nabbing a pair, but are there any other bargains you know of?

I'm not sure there's much of a difference comfort wise. I'd definitely go for the S2 as that price.

Worth an extra £20 for the S5 pad from Ribble?

Well I don't know about in the same league, the S2 pad was a great insert, I still use mine and still lovely and comfortable after some years wear. So worth 80 quid, IF they're available in your size.

The S5 pad is just well very comfy of course but in a different way.
