Hello,
I've done a bit of searching but can't find any views on the above choice.

Both bikes are currently available new at £3K and seem to be in the same ballpark in terms of spec, weight and suspension (ie although the Spesh has more headline travel, consensus seems to be that the Anthem X rides like it has more than its headline figure).

Both have scored 10/10 in magazine tests and been heaped with superlatives.

I'd be really interested in any views on which you'd buy if you had no bike, wanted to ride and potentially race all but the most extreme XC terrain fast - and in relative comfort for marathon rides - with a budget of £3K.

Is it purely down to personal (brand?) preference or does anyone think one bike really is a cut above the other. I'd be really interested in any views out there.

Thanks,
Rob

PS not always easy to get to the bikes to perform the obvious personal ride to ride comparison hence the post!

Did meet a guy at Swinley forest who had a Stumpy S works hated it
had lots of problems with the own brand shocks and forks.
But then boasted he bought it end of season for £ 900 quid cheaper.

For what ive heard il stick with the Giant myself.

Get a test ride on them I know myself I did not get on with the
brain shock set up, but thats personal.

Have gone for the Stumpy as it has the extra travel but not much extra weight, was $7400 last year plus I managed to get XTR pedals included in the £2999 price...
