Hey

I had a look on the search and still confused,

If I want to do my front and rear mech, do I need two sets?

As was looking at Gore and they are expensive, but looks like they are rated.

But cant afford like 30.00 per set if I need two.

Do you notice a difference say between a 10.00 set and 30.00 set.

I am only using for commuting and XC, on a focus superbud, with xt front and rear mech

Thanks guys

Shimano XTR works very well and does both ends. The basic kit's no good if you've got full outers though, as the hose comes cut into short lengths (damn you shimano!) but otherwise, it's an excellent choice. I think Gore seals slightly better but Shimano lasts well enough, I reckon I'll rebuild my bike again before the cables have issues (I just removed a 6-month-old set from my last build, and you'd think it hadn't been used, let alone used through winter and dropped into a reservoir

  • I bought the Gore ones - one pack has the kit for front and rear, inners and outters which you cut to size.

I think they're great but I've never tried XTR though.
