Hi All,
I currently have a fancy carbon bike fitted out with a fairly low rent aluminium crankset and wish to replace that with a carbon one, mainly for looks to be honest.

Planet-X have some very good looking deals on V light Stronglight Helion cranksets right now.
Does anyone have any experience of using these which they can offer ?

:D

I looked at these in exactly the same way - checked out the stronglight site and they dont sell them anymore ...hmmm...then read (in french) on a .fr web they are remodeled time cranks which were notorious for bolt failure...Ive no idea if true but it was enough to send me running to the hills ....

by the way - there is a picture of them on the photographer paul smiths (sp?) bike in cycling plus...look good so perhaps a review is coming...however if they are remodelled time asx or axs (again sp?) then check out horror stories (in english) on weight weenies...personally couldnt be arxed to take the risk ...but what do I know...

Stronglight usually makes good stuff. Their chainrings are great. I believe they also make/made the Time cranks. They also make the top end mtb crank for Bontrager. Some people were having trouble with the Pulsion crank. The Helion is newer than that, so maybe they fixed the problems. You could always buy a Fulcrum/Campag crank if you are not sure.
