I've fitted a pair of Continental GP4000s on my Viner Gladius and a pair of Continental Ultraports on my commuting / winter bike . Both pairs of tyres are 700x23 .
I thought that I might get another pair of GP4000s that I have seen on Ebay (brand new !!) as spares , but they are 700x25 . Am I going to notice any real difference when it comes to replacing the 23s with 25s ?

In terms of speed 25s will be on par with 23s (well as near as damn it). Over rough road they will be slightly more comfortable (lower pressure).

Will you have enough clearance on the front forks to accomodate a 25mm tyre.Just a thought.

What pressure is good for 700x25?

BTW, you should first check the exact width of the tyre, rather than the claimed one.

I have a claimed 23 at the front and 25 at the back. Measured with an adjustable wrench, front is really 22mm, and rear 24mm.

18mm - 23mm tyres all feel the same in my opinion. You only really notice differences in comfort, once you go to 25mm and above - and it's not much of a difference to be honest.
