Bike hire

My lovely best bike will be out of action for a while with a guarantee issue.
However, I'm booked to be doing the Etape Caledonia in a few weeks. I don't particularly fancy doing this on my fixed commuter. I'm considering claiming on my insurance for the cost of hiring a nice bike for the event.
Does anyone have recommendations as to where to hire good quality road bikes? (I'm based in London).
The bike it'd be replacing is a custom frame with Ultegra components for an idea of the level I'm aiming at.
Thanks,
Ed.

I'd ask with your dealer- if there is a guarantee - why dont they lend you a bike ? I'd be peeved if my car went in with a warranty issue and they didnt give me a loan car.0

Yeah, a replacement would be nice, but it's a one man shop custom building bikes. We spoke about the possibility of using one of the bikes he had around, but none would have fit me. The customer service has been impeccable - calling me straight back at 8 o'clock on a friday evening and arranging a courier to collect the frame on Monday.
I've heard of larger, often American or Italian, companies taking months to process a guarantee so I'm not complaining. But it does look like the fastest way for me to get a bike is hiring one. I believe my insurance will cover it, so it's no cost to me - I just want a bike.0
