Thanks guys, the brakes came off my bike which I got from leisurelakes so I think i'll drop them in for a service and buy some cheaper ones to be going on with. Any views on these or something in a similar price range?

Saint looks overkill?
Can't go wrong with Deore really. I have LX, and they are crap.0 -
I've had Deore BRM 525's on my bike for years (the older ones to the ones you listed).
They have been very reliable although weighty. I've just replaced the original 160/160 mm rotors with new 160/180mm Ashima rotors as I have always felt the front to be slightly underpowered and it is prone to fade on long decents.( I'm 13.5 stone)
They've been Ti bolted and I replaced the original hoses with Goodridge. Apart from the weight issue I cannot think of a single reason to relace them.
A good reliable if slightly heavy system.
I'd go for a 180mm rotor up front though.0 -
right, its a toss up between the saints and the deore then...0

the old saints are poor apparently. Low power with poor modulation. The new (m810) saint's are incredible, but £130.
I'd go deore....0 -
I've got the LX brakes, and I think they're fantastic! :P strong, firm, and very reliable. I guess any of the ones you've listed are fine, but either will only be as good as you fit em, bleed em and bed them in.0
