Hi all

Finding a team carbon (M) in stock is proving a bit difficult.
Casting my search wider to north London and the north west home counties I was hoping some of you nice people might have seen a team carbon in stock in either Halfords or BikeHut.

If you know or have seen any team carbons in stock please reply here.

Cheers

Don't know but I'd be interested in the replies you get. I gave up on the Team Carbon because I couldn't find one (I wanted a small) and Halfords said they couldn't order one. I now have a Ribble on order but with the backorder it'll be ages, so I could still cancel.

  • Well I went into bike hut in Rickmansworth and was told it could be 2 - 6weeks before any stock might arrive.
Also they have 5 back orders made so there is a waiting list also!

The team carbon is a default choice for me but I would prefer to actually see and sit on / test ride before making a firm choice.

I'm also tempted by the Ribble too. But similar waiting times make this a problem choice.

I have a Cycle 2 work voucher that will expire in June so I'm getting nervous

Just had a look at Halfords online checker and they've got a medium at the St Pauls bikehut it seems. Not sure how accurate they are though, I've been looking for a medium pro carbon with zero luck
  • Hey, can't get hold of any Boardman Team or Team Carbon, our C2W scheme is starting early June, and I called Halfords HQ on Wednesday and they said another 4-6weeks on a Team Carbon (Large)...our scheme is only open for 4 weeks I think.

So I take it those LOC/Vouchers from your company have expiry dates.

At this rate the new 2010 range will be out before we see any stock.
  • Also, some halfords are showing up as having one of the bikes in stock (West Midlands - Shirley) this is a display bike, but I don't think they are in Medium or Small (only Large).

I don't fancy a display one unless its discounted (which they said they won't/can't)

I am ( almost ) sure that they cant sell a display one as new as it is not :?

Aparrently the Boardman Pro carbon is comining at about mid july and the Team Carbon in end of June.

Also I dont think there is going to be a 2010 range I think it is meant for the 2009 range to carry on and then the 2011 bikes will come out.

I eventually found a Pro Carbon in a medium at Putney. I called all the Bikehuts in and around London and found Putney had 2 in stock. They did have a Team there too. Might be worth a call, although they did say after these ones had gone, no longer selling Boardmans. Not sure why, some head office decision i guess

I spoke to a Halfords PR who said that they should be available for home delivery late May/ early June, although just checked online and not yet it seems...

They seem to have online delivery now, but at a cost of £20. I wouldn't mind actually seeing and sitting on one first - I couldn't say if I'd want a M or L without seeing one first hand. Potentially buyers like myself could have to shell out £40 on delivery charges. Rubbish.

We've got one in my store - Weston-super-Mare (823). I know because I built it for display this evening. It's the second one i've built in 3 days, and I've only been in work on 2 of those days :P

It's a medium by the way.

Have a look at the Dollan Mythos. I have just picked one of these up with 105 all round and Mavic rims through my C2W scheme and in my opinion it looks and feels better that the Boardman with no wheel worries as an added extra.

After ordering the bike it was delivered in under 2 weeks.

Only 160 miles to get there!

Interesting! Unfortunately I couldn't convince my work place to take up the C2W scheme... but it could be a serious alternative. I hugely prefer the look of the Boardman (not that looks are everything of course :P) but given that stock is difficult to come by I'm going to have a look into this Dolan bike! Thanks!
