It's about 25 minutes by car from me, so I went there last year to have a look.

I was interested in a new bike and wiling to spend up to £1,800.

The shop didn't have one quality bike in it, so I asked the guy behind the counter who looked like he hadn't been on a bike in many a long year and had a fondness for too many pies, if I could look at some bikes said what I would spend.

No we don't have any here,we did have some in the warehouse up the road but we sold them all.

I stood waiting for more information, help, hell anything, alas that was the end of his commitment to me as a customer.

I returned home, a complete waste of time and energy.
Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"

Triton's are an excellent shop, very reliable and far better than many of the other local bike shops.
They shift a huge amount of bikes, and have a great rep with their suppliers.
Their focus is mainly on BMXes and decent MTB's, and they get most bikes in stock damn quick if needs be.

I have satisfactorily bought 2 bikes from them, and am about to purchase a 3rd.
Service has always been above and beyond that of other bike shops I have used.

Anyone I know that has been there or referred there has always had good service.
Heck, when the staff & mechanics from other LBS go there for advice & deals on new bikes, you know you are onto a good thing!

So what, the chap behind the counter is large, it means nothing. I'll wager he can outride alot of people. You don't get to be good friends with those high up in the bike industry (and even lead Hans Rey on a fast ride around Epping Forest) by being a crap shop, unlike Tritons.

I've ordered mail order from them with no problems and was just earlier thinking of getting some Bontrager tyres off of them as they've got a good deal on.
