Tyres for a run through France?

I'm cycling from Roscoff to Bilbao this summer and will be using 26 inch wheels. What tyres would anybody suggest for this trip? Max price around £45. Don't want them to be particularly wide but I'm more than open to advice!

I've always used continental top touring 2000's like these

very reliable and tough, might be able to get them cheaper if you google.

Marathon Plus 26 x 1.35 (or 1.75 if you want wider).
£19 each from Spa Cycles, bargain for a bulletproof tyre.

Another vote for Schwalbe Marathon Plus... 3 of us did jogle last year and not a single puncture...bullett proof..bomb proof..english roads proof..so France should be a doddle
