I did my first commute on my road bike this year, and also my first commute since being deliberately knocked off my bike on Monday. I've been doing a fair bit of training for triathlon's since Christmas, using my road bike on a turbo, and it seems to have paid off. I've never gone under 19 minutes before, but today I did it in 17 minutes and 19 seconds!

The traffic was a bit lighter and the traffic lights went my way a couple of times, but I'm pretty pleased with that!

Nice work! I think I was on for a record too until I hit Piccadilly, which was mental. Average speed went from 16.6mph to 15.1mph in the space of about 500 yards. However, I did crest the east side of the Hyde Park Corner underpass at 21.3mph, when I usually am panting with pain at about 16, so that was good.

How is the alma mater, Graeme? Are the little darlings back from easter holidays? I remember I did take my bike up one term in my first year, and pottered around a bit (in Tocil Woods if I remember rightly? On a road bike obv) but never really used it. Which is a shame, especially when I lived in Leam, as the 10 miles or so via Stoneleigh would have been a pretty cool commute. Although considering how fast *I* used to drive that road, maybe not...

Yep, first week of term. Lots of building work on campus at the moment. Big renovations going on in the Arts Centre and the SU building.

Nice one. How are you feeling after your run in?
    FCN 2-4.

    "It stays down, Daddy."
    "Exactly."
